Head of Technology · MUFG Pension & Market Services India
GCC Builder & Speaker
I lead 200+ engineers at MUFG Pension & Market Services in India, building digital platforms for global financial services. I speak about GCC strategy, women in technology leadership, and digital transformation.
What I Speak About
Built the MUFG MPMS India GCC from zero to 200 engineers. This talk covers the structural decisions that determine whether a GCC earns strategic relevance or stays in execution mode.
Only ~10% of senior tech roles in Indian GCCs are held by women. I'm working to change that.
Modernising legacy platforms in financial services while keeping the lights on and regulators satisfied.
Twenty years in technology teaches you that the messiest problems are usually the most interesting ones.
I started in insurance technology, moved through product management, identity and access management, and eventually into digital transformation - accumulating, along the way, a particular expertise in the places where legacy systems meet modern ambitions.
Today, I lead technology at MUFG Pension & Market Services India - a Global Capability Centre I helped build from scratch to more than 200 engineers. The work is complex: building a team, a culture, and engineering practices that make the GCC a genuine source of innovation for the organisation.
The question I keep returning to is whether GCCs can shift from executing other people's thinking to generating their own. I believe they can. I'm also convinced this requires a much harder look at why so few of the people leading these centres are women.
These are the questions I speak about - because I think the answers matter, and because too few people with direct operational experience are saying them out loud.
Invite Me to SpeakMost Global Capability Centres start life as offshore delivery arms - cost-optimised, instruction-following, strategically peripheral. This talk is about how to change that. Drawing on the experience of building MUFG MPMS India from the ground up to 200+ engineers, I explore what separates GCCs that become genuine innovation partners from those that remain permanently in execution mode.
Only around 10% of senior technology roles in Indian GCCs are held by women - a figure that has barely shifted despite years of diversity programming. This talk goes past the statistics to examine where the pipeline actually breaks and what changes - structural, cultural, behavioural - actually move it. It is aimed at senior leaders, women and men, who are in a position to act.
Financial services organisations carry more legacy code than almost any other sector, and face more regulatory scrutiny than most. In practice, digital transformation means working on systems that cannot be switched off, in full view of regulators who need to understand every change. This talk covers how to sequence that work without disrupting operations, and how to bring regulators with you through significant architectural shifts.
